Q & A

Q & A

What’s a financial value you live by in your own life?

Keep your processes simple and automated. Every decision you have to make or action you need to take is a potential point of failure. A system that is 90% efficient and happens 100% of the time is better than one that is 100% efficient and happens 20% of the time.

Q & A

What’s one common financial mistake you help clients avoid?

Underspending! Many of those who save substantial wealth over the course of their lives never give themselves emotional permission to use that wealth. By creating a framework of what is safe to spend, I help clients use their assets to meet their goals.

Q & A

What are the 3 words that people use to describe you?

Analytical, Diligent, Easygoing

Q & A

What’s something about you that might surprise people?

I speak fluent Japanese. My dad is American, and my mom is from Tokyo. I spoke Japanese with her at home growing up, and I try to study a little bit every day now to hold onto it!

Q & A

What’s one piece of timeless advice you often share with clients navigating wealth?

Automated systems are a must. Every decision you have to make or action you have to take is a potential point of failure in the future. Even if a “set it and forget it” option is slightly less optimal, it’ll get done every time—which is more valuable than a perfect system that only gets executed some of the time.

Q & A

When you are not in the office, what are you most passionate about?

My parents, Ken and Yasuko, and my younger sister, Josephine. We are a tight-knit group that works hard to set time aside for each other. I also enjoy spending time with my friends, primarily by traveling or enjoying a variety of outdoor activities.

Q & A

What’s a guilty pleasure you’ll happily admit to?

I spend far too much time every winter watching basketball. I am a huge Timberwolves fan and watch almost all of their games every season. On nights they aren’t playing, I’ll throw on any NBA game I can get my hands on.
