Lauren grew up in Waukesha, WI, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Personal Finance. Since then, she has spent her entire career dedicated to growing her knowledge in the financial planning industry and has attained her CFP® and CMFA® designations. At her previous firm, she deepened client relationships through ongoing planning and is excited to bring that vision to Pine Grove and the Baumgarten team. What motivates you in your work?

Seeing the impact I can have on my clients’ lives. Clients telling me I have reduced the stress they have about their finances. Watching the excitement of clients as they are able to retire and live out their dreams.

What’s a financial value you live by in your own life?

Tracking my expenses every month: I can’t fully understand how much I can save or how much I need if I don’t understand how much I am spending—which is why we always preach: this is the most important number to know when planning for retirement.

When you are not in the office, what are you most passionate about?

I am most passionate about spending time with friends and family and exploring all that life has to offer. I’m a self-proclaimed foodie who loves to cook and try new restaurants in the Twin Cities. My family enjoys spending time together on the lake, relaxing on the back patio with good food and drinks, and traveling.

If you could instantly master one skill outside of finance, what would it be?

Drawing and painting. I love being creative and trying different crafts at home. I enjoy the process of painting, as I find it very relaxing—though it would be nice to equally enjoy the outcome!
