How will the elections work this year?

May 5, 2020

The campaign and election process will be quite different in 2020 compared to previous years. Not only is this a Presidential election year, but many state and local candidates will be up for re-election while new prospective candidates try to take office.
We were fortunate to host Professor David Schultz of Hamline University for a 40 minute virtual interview on the upcoming elections and how it will all work. Professor Schultz is a well-known expert on election law.
This 40 minute conversation covers the following:
  • How will the elections actually happen? Will people still vote?
  • What will campaigning and conventions look like?
  • David reveals how this election may come down to six swing states or even 10 specific counties.
  • This is the first year that a generation voting group will be larger than the Baby boomers.
Lastly, David will to in to detail as to why voter turnout may not be as low as many will think, but we have ample time to get our vote in if we do not want to go to the precinct. He also feels that this could be one of the closest elections we have seen.
